Around the World in 80 Bakes
This is one of my favourite baking projects to-date. Inspired by my 2 passions - food & travel, I set out to make 80 iconic baked goods from 80 different countries.
Here are the self-imposed rules of the project:
It has to be as authentic as possible (even if that means going to specialty grocery stores to find rare imported ingredients).
The recipes I use, whenever possible, should be by someone from that country or of that cultural background. This might require Google Translating online recipes or watching YouTube videos in a different language.
Repeated countries donāt count (I can make multiple items from the same country but they will be counted as 1a, 1b, 1c, etc)
